    Holistic Care

At Excel Psychiatric Associates, we believe that you deserve mental health care that views you holistically. We pride ourselves in viewing you as a complete person and joining you as a partner in your own mental health.

This starts by taking the time to understand you. Our initial consultation is over an hour in length so that we have the time to listen to your unique story. During this time we will also discuss and explain lifestyle changing strategies, different therapy modalities, and, if appropriate, various medication options that could meet your needs.

    Health and Wellness

We feel that reaching optimal mental health requires adequate attention to one’s physical health also. To do this we work with you to find and combine elements of lifestyle adjustments, various therapeutic modalities, and medications to aid you in achieving your optimal health vision.

We also understand that life is complex and that sometimes it can become messy and overwhelming. We will respect and listen to your unique story and strive to provide our clinical expertise in a way that values and incorporates your lived experiences into a custom treatment plan. At Excel Psychiatric Associates we are not satisfied with a one size fits all strategy. Rather, we always tailor each treatment plan into a one size fits YOU.

    Whole Health Journey

If medications are part of your health journey, we will work closely with you to find the best fit and to mitigate any potential side effects.

Just as we recognize that mental health includes both physical and psychological components, we recognize that the effects of depression or the side effects from medication, such as weight gain and sexual dysfunction, need attention and care.

Therefore, we work with the whole you through your whole health journey, caring for you in mind and body.

Come talk. We’ll listen. Let’s work together to help you live your best life.

We are well-versed in the entire spectrum of psychopharmacologic treatments. We know how and when to use the latest medications, as well as when the application of more traditional treatments may be the optimal solution.

This means that as we collaborate with you in pursuit of a regime that fits you best, our providers will be able to bring all appropriate options to the table, making sure that whatever is selected is the best fit for you.

We will work with you to develop a plan of treatment that helps you live a full, happy life, capitalizing on cutting-edge research and therapy modalities.

We are an out-of-network provider. This means …

We have stepped outside of the typical insurance payment model because our services are driven by your needs, not by the demands of insurance companies. We refuse to let them dictate the length of your appointment or the frequency of your appointments.

  • Yes! When a medical practice receives reimbursement directly from insurance companies they have the authority to demand certain restrictions on your care like shorter appointment slots, a maximum number of visits per year, and a limit to the types of medications and interventions that can be prescribed. At Excel Psychiatric Associates we strongly disagree with insurance companies dictating the type of care you will receive. We don’t let insurance companies come between you and your provider.

At Excel Psychiatric Associates we have longer appointments so we can really listen to your needs and understand you. We work with you to meet as often as you need. We also work with you to select treatment options that are the very best for you.

  • This does mean that we do not receive payment directly from your insurance. Instead as an out-of-network practice, you pay the fee for each appointment up front and as a complimentary service we provide you with paperwork allowing you to directly receive reimbursement from your insurance company. We are also happy to assist you in submitting reimbursement paperwork to your insurance company.

  • No! We do not let insurance dictate things about your appointment but this does not mean we do not work with insurance. In fact, we work with insurance companies every single day in order to get you the best coverage for your psychiatric medications. We believe that providing a treatment you can’t afford is equal to providing no treatment at all. So, we work hard to tackle the prior authorization process so that your medications can be approved by your insurance company.

  • Did you know that many drug manufacturers offer discounts, grants, and patient assistance programs to help you cover your deductible and up-front drug costs? We work to help you take advantage of available manufacturer discount and patient assistance programs.

We are transparent about our pricing and never hide our fees. You’ll know exactly what you’ll be paying before you start. For full details on our pricing, see our pricing page where all services with their associated costs are clearly listed.

Our Core Services

  • One size fits YOU

Psychiatric services include both finding the right diagnosis and medication management.

Our psychiatric providers greatly pride themselves on being educators.

You will be able to discuss, discover, and learn about your mental health, treatment options, and the function of each medication.

And if side-effects develop, we will work with you to manage them or find an alternative treatment.

Just like some people with diabetes can manage it with diet and exercise alone, while others need medications in addition to that, some people experiencing difficulties in their mental wellbeing need medications to enhance their ability to participate in their positive life changes.

Our medical providers can assess whether or not your unique situation would benefit from medications, and if so, will work with you to determine the best regimen possible.

  • Helping you be the best you

Therapy is a process to help you develop personal skill sets to tackle life's obstacles. At Excel Psychiatric, our goal is to help you be the best you that you can be. We tailor the type of therapy to each individual situation and may include elements of CBT, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and other techniques based on your needs.

It is never to "fix" or "change" who you are, as we feel each person has many positive attributes that make them unique.

See [link to Tiffany's page] for more information about our therapy services.

Meds here; Therapy there

If you already have a therapist, we would love to coordinate with them. If you would like to see us only for medication management and still continue to work with your own therapist, we will make every effort to coordinate with them to provide you with the best care.

We join you as a partner in your own mental health journey.

"He, by far, is the best psychiatrist I have seen in my 20+ years of suffering with depression. When I came to him, I had been severely misdiagnosed and felt worse then I had ever felt in my life. Thankfully, he straightened everything out in a very short amount of time and I feel so much better. The office staff has been very nice and when I email them with a question or concern I ALWAYS receive an answer with 24 hours or less. I’m very grateful for them."
